The circular hike on the heights of the Geisingen district Leipferdingen offers wide views over the Baaralb and the Hegaualb with their distinctive volcanic cones.
Leipferdingen, the starting point of the route, is located in a side valley of the Aitrach Valley and is easily reachable by Ringzug. The landmark of the town is the St. Michael's Church with its Romanesque origin.
The largely unmarked path immediately climbs steeply to the summit of Bol (807 m) with a magnificent panoramic view into the Leipferdingen valley and the surrounding heights. The following panoramic view over the "Hegau Kegelspiel" is offered by the premium hiking trail "Old Post Road." Nearby lies the inconspicuous Osterbühl, where hard basalt tuff is exposed. On the further way, the somewhat aged wind turbines on the Homberg dominate the landscape. Idyllically, the Weiherwiesen lie at the foot of the hill. On the opposite side of the Leipferdingen village brook, we walk past this natural monument and then climb over the Starkenbühl to the Homberg with a view over Leipferdingen, which we reach descending from the Scheibenbuck.

Author’s recommendation
With this circular hike on secluded and mostly natural paths, the Hegau panorama can also be enjoyed away from the busy premium trails.

Tips and suggestions
A similar route was created in 2024 as an adventure trail "Around Leipferdingen" and is continuously marked.Roadbook
From Leipferdingen Station (685 m above sea level), the path leads through the Aitrach Valley towards Blumberg to the fork "Am Neuhau" and from there to "Spitzhütte". After another 600 meters, we leave the path marked with the yellow lozenge to the left, going up through the forest to a hill in the southeast with a view of Leipferdingen, which was previously hidden in the valley. From the summit of Bol (807 m), we enjoy the magnificent panoramic view from the Baar in the west to the length towards the east to Neuhewen, the highest Hegau volcanic mountain. The route continues to the southeast. Passing a field cross, the path turns south and reaches through the Duggenhart Forest the Old Post Road with the panorama of the southern Hegau volcanic mountains. Yellow trail markers indicate that we are now in the district of Konstanz. We follow the premium hiking trail left at the fork "Haslen" along the forest edge with a view of the Osterbühl. In the quarry on the northern edge of the hill, black basalt tuff is exposed. At the location "Bucherhof" we leave the marked premium trail to the left through the Weiherwiesen. Along the Leipferdingen village brook, the natural path leads back towards Leipferdingen and ascends before the Weiherhof to the Starkenbühl, zigzagging up the Homberg to the cross on its western spur. Just before the first wind turbine, we cross the district road between Leipferdingen and Stetten to the Nachtweide. Descending from Scheibenbuck, we finally reach Leipferdingen at the church.
