Until May 15 of each calendar year, you must not enter or bypass the wildlife protection gate.
Until May 31 of each calendar year, you must not enter the ridge at the Großer Ochsenkopf for wildlife protection reasons. Heavy fines will be imposed for non-compliance.
At the saddle, turn right toward the Weiherkopf for a beautiful panoramic view. The Hörnerbahn’s summit station is also located here. Return along the same route and ascend the ridge to the Rangiswanger Horn. Descend onto the trail that leads through the forest past the Sigiswanger Horn to the Alpe Fahrengehren, where you can stop for a break.
From there, either turn left to descend via the Panorama Trail through the Ostertaltobel or climb up to the Ofterschwanger Horn and descend to the train station. There is also a place to stop for refreshments here at the Weltcuphütte. Head back, then turn right onto the Steinmännchen Trail and left downhill through the forest along the Panorama Trail Ostertal to the starting point parking lot.
