Roadbook
From the tourist information in the Kurhaus in Grainau, you cross the Waxenstein street at the minigolf course. From here a hiking path with a slight ascent takes you through the Badersee forest to the Badersee. On the west side of the Badersee, a footpath leads further towards the Eibsee. The hiking trail meets the Eibsee street shortly before the Eibsee parking lot. Here you cross the road and first arrive at the Zug station of the Bayerische Zugspitzbahn and on the right at the cable car station.
Now you go up 1,962 m by train or cable car. From the mountain station you can climb the Zugspitze cross via a small via ferrata (only for experienced climbers). Afterwards, the Tyrolean Zugspitzbahn takes you down to the valley in Ehrwald.
From here you follow the paved road uphill to Obermoos and further to the Hochthörlehütte which is located at 1,480 meters above sea level. From there you follow the wide path until you reach a signpost - viewpoint "Eibseeblick". You should take this detour. Without the detour to the viewpoint, keep left at the fork. Follow this footpath further. Beyond the border you follow the footpath until you reach a forest road. Following this, you cross the meadows of an old ski slope for the first time and after a short time you turn left again onto a footpath. Again you reach the old ski slope, follow it briefly to the left, and then turn back into the footpath in the forest. The footpath leads downhill in gentle loops. You leave the forest above a target hut and continue downhill over the slope, cross a first forest road and shortly afterwards reach a second. This one forks and you follow the forest road on the left. The forest road ends on the shore path of the Eibsee, which leads to the right to the parking lot.
From the parking lot at the Eibsee you can descend on the same path you ascended, or take the white-blue bus back to Grainau.
