On the themed trail "On Foot" you will experience interesting facts about the history of the town of Hauenstein and the closely related history of industrial shoe manufacturing from the late 19th century as you walk through Hauenstein.
At more than a dozen stations, you can gain insights into machine shoe production, the lives of factory workers, and the people in the village.
The exhibits and information boards are complemented by an accompanying digital offering that can be accessed via your mobile phone.
The giant red pump also offers the perfect motif for a great souvenir photo.

Roadbook
The start of the trail is on Pirmasenser Street (junction with Am Zimmerberg Street). Walk along Bahnhofstraße. After about 400 meters, turn left into Pirminiusstraße. Walk along Pirminiusstraße and after about 200 meters, turn left and continue on Pirminiusstraße, which after about 200 meters turns into Marienstraße. Continue on Marienstraße to the Christ the King Church/Elementary School. Turn left there. Walk downhill on the street to the end and turn left into Dahner Street. Continue to the intersection. Turn right there and after about 150 meters the Shoemaker's Monument is on the right side. From there, walk 20 meters straight ahead and turn right into Schulstraße. Walk through Schulstraße to the end, then turn left and continue straight. After about 150 meters you will reach the end point of the tour, the German Shoe Museum Hauenstein.
