Böhmenkirch—We're up here—on the Alb!
Let your mind wander in unspoiled nature and forget about everyday life—in Böhmenkirch, that’s possible. Here you’ll find a landscape of forests, open hills, wildly romantic valleys, and nature and landscape conservation areas that you can explore on foot or by bike along numerous marked trails.
In winter, well-groomed and marked cross-country ski trails wind through the densely forested landscape. Skiers and snowboarders will find excellent conditions at our ski lifts in Treffelhausen and Schnittlingen. After your activity, our cozy inns, cafés, and well-run restaurants will take care of your culinary needs.
The Ochsenhau Loop is an easy and varied circular hike on the Alb plateau around Böhmenkirch. The starting point is in the small hamlet of Heidhöfe, from where the tour leads through open countryside and peaceful wooded areas.

Roadbook
On this loop hike, we start in the small hamlet of Heidhöfe, which offers plenty of parking. In the center of the village, it’s worth visiting the Koloman Chapel, which was built by the residents of Heidhöfe in 2007 with great care and enthusiasm. A detour to the Hülben on the Rauhe Wiese is also well worth it. Along an educational trail, we can learn many fascinating facts about these waterholes and their unique flora and fauna. The loop trail then leads through the “Fairy Tale Forest” of the Ochsenhaus, where you can marvel at the mighty spruce trees. There’s also a picnic area at the edge of the forest, perfect for taking a break.
