From the Bad Abbach information at the market square, the Oberndorf Sky Path first leads you through the town center towards Oberndorf. After passing under the B16, turn immediately right, following Kalkofenstraße or Kalkofenring, steeply uphill, partly parallel to the Jura Trail. Once at the top, a bench offers a chance to rest briefly with a great view over the spa town of Bad Abbach and the Danube valley.
Continue always along the forest edge – here the Jura Trail leaves us – past a transmission mast, after about 800 m you reach one of the "Danube Gates" of the hiking trail "Rock Path." Continue on the left on a beautiful field and forest path with several viewpoints and fixed benches.
The route now crosses a small hollow and shortly after ascends a steep forest path (a 1.5 km shortcut via the following junction Donau-Panoramaweg is possible here).
The path brings you to a unique viewpoint on one of the Jura rocks with a rest area. Descending through the forest, you now leave the Oberndorf slopes heading towards the Danube. Passing the bizarre rock formations of the old quarry, you cross the road, then follow the Danube upstream and reach the Danube dam. From here, there is a good view of Oberndorf, dominated by a Romanesque church. Two inns invite you to stop here.
The return is on the road-adjacent footpath until shortly before the Bad Abbach pedestrian bridge, where you turn right. Via the second underpass, the path continues back into the spa park.
