The hike features about 1,500 meters of altitude gain of moderate difficulty, but rewards you with wonderful views into the little-known Mühlbachtal, the picturesque mountain lake at the destination, and several places to stop, including the Schaunbergalm. This offers farm-fresh delicacies and some animal encounters around the hut.

Roadbook
From the hiking info point at Dorfstraße, follow route no. 1 and Schattbergstraße to the snack station Burgeck. From here, the Pioneer path/Vitalis path leads and then forest road no. 722 past the Schaunbergalm to the Schaunberg Mitteralm. Now switch to the hiking trail and follow it past the Hackl Hochalm to Hacklsee. The descent route follows the same path or the forest road.
