Culture and delicacies
A highlight of the alpine summer is the annual musicians' meeting on 15 August. The Schaunbergalm also has a lot to offer in terms of culinary delights: from the classic snack to meat loaf with fried egg. "All products are produced on our farm: whether meatloaf, bacon, cheese, bread or dumplings."
The panorama around the Schaunbergalm is stunning: you can see the "Vorderen and Hintere Planitzer" as well as the two three-thousand-metre peaks - the "Großen Schmiedinger and the Kitzsteinhorn".
Friends of two-wheelers will also get their money's worth, as the alpine hut is easily accessible by mountain bike.
