The largest sports and exercise facility in Puolanka is the surrounding magnificent nature, which you can enjoy on the Mustikkavaaranpolku trail located very close to Puolanka center.
The Mustikkavaaranpolku trail leads, as the name suggests, to the summit of Mustikkavaara, where hikers are rewarded with stunning views. This easy-access circular nearby recreational trail is suitable for nature refreshment for all ages, provided you consider that the path is occasionally rocky. The route is marked on trees with blue paint. Please note that there are no resting places along the route.

At the beginning of the counterclockwise route, there is a planted logging clearing, and after 500 meters, one encounters young pine forest. The ascending path is initially narrow and quite rocky. After about 700 meters, the summit of Mustikkavaara is reached, with a logging clearing to the left. From the summit of Mustikkavaara, beautiful hill scenery opens up. The journey continues gently downhill through young saplings. After 1 km, the route goes under power lines for 200 meters through dry pine forest, after which it turns left into forest among tortoiseshell pines. The route continues for a short time on a rocky and narrow path, but soon the path becomes easier to walk. After 2.4 km, a sandy road is reached, from where the route continues left into pine forest. The final section follows a snowmobile trail to the intersection of Teollisuustie and Lämpötie roads. From Teollisuustie, turn left onto Vihajärventie and walk the last 300 meters along the light traffic route back to the starting point.

The starting point of the route is on the right side along the light traffic route after the intersection of Vihajärventie and Leirintie roads when coming from Puolanka center, next to Puolanka Camping campsite.
