The starting point is Klaus near the Grünbacher Sattel. After the railway crossing towards the coal works, a red-marked gravel road soon leads up to the meadow path, which takes us to the beginning of the Imnitzersteig. We follow this, past the Hausstein with a beautiful view of Puchberg and the Schneeberg, whose sight will accompany us throughout the route. After a little more than an hour, requiring some surefootedness towards the end, we reach the wonderfully located mountain hut with magnificent views of Schneeberg and Grünbach below us. For the descent, we choose the green-marked Eselsteig, which passes a distinctive bear figure on the way down. Surefootedness is again helpful here. Following the blue/yellow markings and the signposts to Grünbacher Sattel, we return to the starting point after about 2.5 hours.
