The "Wasserdell", located east of Dahlem, consists of a valuable natural landscape with well-developed
heath moor areas, peat moss stands and alder buckthorn bushes, as well as the nutrient-poor moor brook with a small alder carr forest. A body of water created by damming the moor brook, which also serves as a forest fire pond, has naturally developed south of the "Wasserdell". Above this lies a larger heath moor area. The entire complex lies within an extensive spruce forest (Natura 2000 area). Here, part of an old windthrow area has been cleared. In addition, thinning measures within the framework of the project "Heath, Moors, Meadows" have been carried out on an area of 2.4 ha. This area, together with the raised bog on the Heidenkopf, forms the only habitats of this kind (about 3 km northeast of the "Wasserdell") in the Euskirchen district.

From the village square into Schulstraße about 1.5 km to the "Wasserdell" hiking car park. From here over the plank dam, then right onto the forest path and keep right again until the starting point. From here, go up the gently rising forest path to the crossing of the Roman road, then keep right to the next crossroads at the "Vierherrenstein". Now continue towards Dahlem and keep sharp left after about 500 m (also D 3), follow this path to the shelter hut, then right into Mühlenpfad to the end, then left to the railway crossing, cross it and after 50 m turn right at the marker post through the hedge along the railway tracks back to the starting point.
