Mittersill: Plattachsee
From the Hintersee, the route goes over old mule tracks to the Plattachsee, below the old mountain pass.
From the picturesque Hintersee, the path leads quite steeply over the old mule track up to the so-called Nassfeld. From there further on to the mountain lake Plattachsee. The return route initially follows the same way, but then turns left and leads back into the Felbertal. Over the valley floor, it goes past the Gamsblick hut back to the starting point of the route.
Author’s recommendation
The Gamsblick hut is ideal for a cozy stop at the end of the route.

Roadbook
From the Hintersee parking lot, follow the path left through the barrier. After 130 meters, turn right onto the trail. After the steep ascent, the old mule track leads south over flatter terrain to the so-called Nassfeld. After Nassfeld, turn right towards the St. Pöltner hut. There is a short ascent and then flat terrain to the Plattachsee. Take the same route back to the junction, then keep left. The descent is picturesque, passing the Schleier waterfall to the valley end. From there, continue along the valley floor to Hintersee. Past the Gamsblick hut and the lake again back to the parking lot.
