Malofatranský Minčol

A steep ascent follows the yellow hiking trail from the final stop Kolónia Hviezda ATC via Sedlo Prašivé up to the summit itself. The summit of Minčol is dominated by a double cross and is definitely one of the most scenic Slovakian hills. It is also linked with the history of the Slovak National Uprising. From the summit, you can enjoy views of the ridge of the Lučanská Malá Fatra, Krivánska Malá Fatra, Veľká Fatra, the Tatras, Javorníky, and the Beskids as well as the adjacent Turčianska and Žilinská basins. A steep descent along the blue hiking trail leads to Vrútky. The summit itself is a crossroads of several hiking paths, and you can also descend to the villages of Turie, Višňové, or Strečno.
