The area is located on the edge of the Štiavnické Hills, just a few kilometers from Žiar nad Hronom, on the road leading to Sklené Teplice. The route to Kečka is marked with a green color and is a loop with a length of about 5.5 km.
The loop route is one-way, which you will notice also on the markings (they are on one side only) and it will guide you through many interesting places. Sections with climbs on iron ladders with chains among massive rocks also await you, so it is more suitable for physically fit hikers and older children.
Various rock formations such as sinkholes, rock needles, canyons, rock windows, or 'seas' – remnants of pink rhyolite mining in the area – and legally protected flora will not be missing.
From different parts of Kečka, you will enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, the neighboring Szabó Rock, Kapitulské Rocks, as well as Hliník nad Hronom and the surrounding villages.

Tips and suggestions
For more experienced hikers, we recommend a full-day trip – start from Sklené Teplice via Teplica Castle on the yellow and later on the green marked trail.Roadbook
The route starts at the crossroads “Bralce,” which you can reach by the green mark from the parking lot on the edge of Hliník nad Hronom near the former agricultural cooperative within 10-15 minutes walking.
From here starts the most demanding section of the route, the ascent to the Kečka viewpoint. It is 1.2 km long and should take you about 40 minutes.
From the viewpoint, you continue about 2 km to the Janova lúka area. Within this over 3 km section between Bralce and Janova lúka, you will encounter iron ladders, steps, and chains.
From Janova lúka, only the final, simple 1.5 km section on the green mark leads to the starting point of the route.

Directions
- when driving from Nitra to Banská Bystrica, exit the R1 at the exit to the village of Bzenica (after Žarnovica)
- when driving from Banská Bystrica to Nitra, exit at Ladomerská Vieska (after Žiar nad Hronom)
The starting points for the route are from the village of Hliník nad Hronom (shorter route), or Sklené Teplice (longer route).
