- Most parts of the Kurun Polku hike are easy to complete (Level 1-2). The hike is marked with blue signpost and follows the gravel road.
- However, the climb uphill to the viewpoint might be slippery and difficult depending on the weather and your equipment. Due to these conditions, the level of the hike is comparatively hard (Level 5-6).
- Cars are also allowed to take the gravel road so hikers should be attentive during the walk. The climb uphill might be dangerous, especially after the rainy season and in autumn and winter.
Tips and suggestions
- At the parking lot you will find bathrooms, benches and rubbish bins. There are also opportunities for sitting at the hut and close to the hilltop.

Roadbook
The Kurun Polku circular route starts directly at the parking place on top of Kivesvaara hill. Find the beginning of the path directly next to the hotel and enter the forest. Follow the route downwards, cross the street and proceed in following the yellow and blue signs. After reaching a small parking slot turn left and follow the gravel path. Follow the signs and turn right at the second intersection. Follow the gravel path until you reach the little hut, which marks the entrance of the forest track. After a relatively demanding ascent, you are able to enjoy the beautiful scenery on the hilltop. The route continues along the same path downhill. After reaching the little hut again, turn left to complete the circular route. Turn right at the next intersection by following the signs of Kurun Polku. At the next intersection you reach the first gravel path again and can turn left to return to the parking place along the same route.
The Kurun Polku circle route is 9.9 km and it is possible to either shorten the route or to combine this hike with the two other tracks Louhoksen Kierros and Kantolan Lenkki.

The parking lot is the ideal starting point of this walk. However, there are several other possibilities to park the car along the hike so that you can adapt the hike or combine parts of the Kurun Polku with the hikes Louhoksen Kierros or Kantolan Lenkki.Coordinates

- No special equipment or clothing is required. We recommend hiking shoes if you want to discover the viewpoint.
