On this hike, you will see the most beautiful sides of Keitum. First, you can enjoy the view over the Wadden Sea to Kampen from the mudflat hiking path before heading to St. Severin church on the edge of town. The cemetery is the resting place of many famous personalities, and the seafarers' church also impresses with its simple beauty inside. Back in Keitum town centre, old captain's houses with thatched roofs and lovingly designed gardens await to be discovered. A visit to the Old Frisian House and Local History Museum of the Sölring Foriining is also possible along the way.
Author’s recommendation
A nice place to stop along the way is Café Nielsen with a view of the mudflats and a terrace.

Safety information
The transition to the mudflat path at the beginning of the route is quite steep and bumpy. Alternatively, families with strollers can use a crossing further north. This one is flatter and paved.Tips and suggestions
The path is especially beautiful at low tide. Current information on ebb and flow can be found here: https://www.sylt.de/reise-service/webcams-wetter-gezeiten.html
Roadbook
We start at the parking lot opposite the Friesensaal and immediately take the small path to the right of the parking lot down to the mudflats. There we follow the paved path along the mudflats to Café Nielsen, where the route continues north along the mudflats as a gravel path. At the height of the Keitum church, we turn our backs on the mudflats and walk past St. Severin parallel to the mudflats via the Alten Kirchenweg back into the centre of Keitum. To reach the Old Frisian House and Local History Museum, turn left at "Am Kliff" street in Keitum. Follow this street to the end and return to the starting point via "Am Tipkenhoog" street.
