UFFBASSE! – Campaign for considerate coexistence in nature
- Always behave anticipatively, kindly, and considerately towards everyone you meet on the way.
- Pay attention to nature, do not destroy plants, and always stay on the paths. Try to avoid excessive noise and leave the forest before dusk.
- Remember to carry a trash bag and take your rubbish back home.
- Please always keep your dog on a leash. Other visitors and animals will thank you.
- For your own safety, observe all trail closures, even on weekends.
- Park only in designated parking areas. Leave space for emergency vehicles and agricultural machinery.
- Give priority to agricultural and forestry traffic.

Author’s recommendation
In Katzenbach, a detour to the signposted remains of a Roman estate is recommended. Another entry point to the hike is possible from the parking lot in the center of Katzenbach.
In Rockenhausen, a stroll through the picturesque old town or a visit to the museums is suggested. You might also reward yourself with a culinary break at the town's marketplace. Additionally, on Fridays until 2:00 p.m., the weekly market with regional products attracts visitors there.

Safety information
Especially in autumn, note that fallen leaves on the ground can conceal unevenness, roots, stones, or holes on the path. After thunderstorms or heavy rain, trees may still fall or branches drop afterward. Particularly in adverse weather conditions, natural paths can become muddy and slippery. Not all rocks or cliffs are secured with ropes or railings. Surefootedness is required in some places. You should expect these kinds of path impairments when hiking. If you think certain sections are impassable for you, you should avoid them.
NOTE:
We strive to announce all closures caused by forestry work or hunting groups on this platform. However, there are situations where trails are closed and we may not have been informed. If you unexpectedly encounter a trail closure or detour, please heed the notices for your own safety.

For our hiking routes, we recommend the following standard equipment:
- Sturdy footwear
- Weather-appropriate clothing

- A sufficient supply of food and drinks, as there are not always places to eat or shop open everywhere.
