Pfälzerwald-Verein e.V.
Circular hike from the Totenkopfhütte into the Heidenbrunner Valley and through the Kaltenbrunner Valley to the Kalmit. With many opportunities to stop for food and beautiful viewpoints.
The start of this route is at the Totenkopfhütte of the Palatinate Forest Club local group Maikammer-Alsterweiler. It leads on PWV paths to the Hellerhütte, which is operated by the PWV local group Neustadt. There are a total of three Rittersteine at both huts. Then it continues past the Putzplatte "Breite Loog" to the Kaisergarten and to the Naturfreundehaus in the Heidenbrunner Valley. The path leads over the small plain into the Kaltenbrunner Valley and further past the Hahnenschritt parking lot to the Kalmit. Through the Felsenmeer and past the Ritterstein "Römer Wachstube" it goes back to the Totenkopfhütte.
