IVV PW + GTW "On Luther's Tracks - Luther, Dragons, Rose Miracle..."

The starting point with ECP (electronic stamping point) at the gate to the Deaconess Mother House next to the Nikolai Gate of Eisenach was deliberately chosen. Here, Luther stepped on Eisenach soil for the first time as a young man. The route of the hike leads through the south city district with the impressive villa quarter of Classicism, which is also the largest contiguous one in Europe. The path stretches through the elongated Marienthal up to the entrance to the Dragon Gorge, a probably unique and therefore heavily frequented rocky ravine. This opens onto the Hohe Sonne with its Rennsteig. The further path on the Rennsteig leads to the Wilde Sau and from there over the Sängerwiese to the Wartburg. There, as a highlight during the anniversary period, Dr. Martinus Luther awaits the hikers for a joint photo. Back to Eisenach, the descent from the Wartburg begins via the information trail with many display panels. The GTW always takes place on the third Sunday in September.
