From the station in Neckargerach, follow the Katzensteig via Reichenbucher Straße and the new Schulstraße uphill to the idyllic forest lake and from there further to Läufertsmühle. From there, the path continues uphill through the valley to the “Drei Dolen,” a historic stream crossing at the mouth of the Weisbach into the Seebach. Here you leave the Katzensteig and follow the local circular route NG 3, a forest path uphill to Fleischberg and from there through Hermannsklinge and the “Kalte Klinge” to the “Entensee” hiking parking lot. Here turn right and walk slowly downhill on a developed forest road. Shortly after a shelter, the NG 3 circular route turns right, and you go straight ahead with the NG 4 circular route to the Minneburg Lookout. At the road, keep left and follow the paved forest road along the edge of the forest to the Margaretenschlucht. Sturdy footwear and surefootedness are required. After climbing through the gorge, follow the Neckarsteig “N” to the right to Neckargerach.
Note: The path above the railway line (after climbing through the gorge and turning right to Neckargerach) is closed until further notice. A detour is signposted.

From the parking lot at the Kneipp facility at the end of Adolf-Weber-Straße, we follow the local circular route F 2 along the historic Hagweg at the edge of the forest to the sports field. The Hagweg was once a well-known trade route between the Neckar and Main rivers. This ridge path offers a magnificent view of the surroundings of Fahrenbach. At the intersection behind the sports field, we turn left and go down to Robener Lake.
Slightly above today’s facility, there used to be a lake in the Seewiesen area. It served the rafters for timber transport through the Seebach valley. Rafting was only permitted during the winter months. When enough wood was gathered, the sluice gate was opened and the wood was transported down to the Neckar. The current lake was created in 1966 by the then hunting tenant Reinhard Mann and designated as a nature reserve in 1988 along with the adjacent meadows.
At Robener Lake, we turn left and walk downstream along the Seebach valley. The Seebach, originally called Gerach, was once much richer in water than it is today. Due to spring catchments for water supply to neighboring communities, the stream in summer is reduced to a trickle.
At the Seebach bridge, we turn right and go over the hill to the shelter in the Wallenklinge.
At the shelter, we keep left and walk down the wildly romantic Wallenklinge into the Seebach valley. Here we leave the circular route F 2 and follow the marking (2) (number 2 in a circle) down the Seebach valley to the Michelherd hut.
At the road, we turn left and follow the circular route (2) (number 2 in a circle) through the forest uphill to the Hagweg and along it back to the starting point.
