From the parking lot, a steep path with many roots leads through the forest to the tree line. From here it continues somewhat more comfortably until the final ascent begins. From Rainer shelter (ruin), it takes about 25 minutes to reach the summit cross. Here you have a magnificent view of lakes and the Karawanks.
The beginning of the descent is the same up to the tree line. Then comes a fence with an overpass (N 46.50279° E 14.50298°), where we turn right before the fence onto a forest path that leads to the forest road. You follow this until the Eisenkappler hut and enjoy the beautiful view.

Coming from Bad Eisenkappel, along the Ebriachbach, a mountain road branches off to the right after about 2.2 km (N 46.47925° E 14.56487°). Along the way, there is a barrier for the toll road to the Eisenkappler hut where you can only insert €6.00 in coins.Parking
2 parking lots just before the Eisenkappler hut. From the 1st parking lot you can walk level to the hut. From the 2nd (upper) parking lot the path leads to the summit.
