The route starts on federal road DN7, about 2 km away from the Arad-Lipova-Deva junction, towards Deva, immediately after crossing the Schoimosch stream. The path is well marked by a blue vertical stripe on a white background and, after about 20 m, the castle is also visible.
It then goes steeply uphill (on the return we take the gentler and slightly longer path). The castle can be reached in about 20 minutes.
After visiting the castle, we then choose a gentler return path that first leads briefly north. Both paths cross 20 m before the end of the route.
