The high voltage pylons crossing Valposchiavo are the inevitable consequence of modern lifestyle, unimaginable without electricity. The "High Voltage" trail enhances this line by turning a necessity into a virtue. In this regard, the route follows the path of electrical energy and rewards hikers with an unusual view of the valley floor. From the square of Poschiavo, surrounded by stately patrician houses, continue towards the New Monastery. The climb on an asphalt road continues in the direction of Cologna. The trail winds along the high voltage line passing through wooded areas and clearings.

Located on the sunny side of the valley and not exceeding 1,300 meters above sea level, the trail can be walked almost all year round.

Over 100 years ago, the Bernina Line was inaugurated. The train from St. Moritz to Tirano ran for the first time in 1910: 61 kilometers of refined engineering through the landscape dominated by the highest mountain in Graubünden. The line connects the impressive glaciers of Palü and Morteratsch with the Mediterranean lifestyle of the valley's southernmost part.
