From the village of Hauenstein (in the Lower Hauenstein) we hike past remnants of both World Wars to the Belchenflue. At 1099 m, a fantastic view awaits us of the Alps, the Black Forest, and the Vosges. At the Spitzenflüeli, we encounter a roughly 200-meter-long trench from World War I. Across the Geissflue, we reach the Lauchflue observation post with a small tank turret and a beautiful panorama. At Rehhag, we leave behind the traces of the World Wars and descend past Humbel to the Upper Hauenstein, where we start our journey home in Langenbruck.
