FT2 - "Hiking Triad" - Medium route

The FT2 hike promises an unforgettable nature experience combined with a deep insight into the cultural and historical significance of the region. With only 5.1 kilometers in length and an easy difficulty level, this route is perfect for families, casual hikers, and anyone who wants to discover the beauty of Kraichgau-Stromberg at a relaxed pace.

The starting point of the hike is the hiking parking lot at the Freudental sports club. The path first leads through the center of Freudental, past the picturesque Freudental Castle, an architectural jewel that breathes the spirit of times gone by. Surrounded by lush greenery, the castle offers a splendid start to the route.

Next, it goes to the former synagogue, which stands as a silent testament to the Jewish community in Freudental. Here, there is an opportunity to pause and reflect on the rich, albeit eventful, history of the region.

Another highlight of the route is the stud monument, which commemorates the breeding of the famous Württemberg horse. This monument is not only of interest to horse lovers but also symbolizes the deep connection of the people in this region to their traditions and agriculture.

From there, the path leads over Teufelsberg along the vineyards, with views stretching to the Black Forest, back to the hiking parking lot. After the hike, a short rest on the hill sofa near the parking lot or a visit to the restaurant in the Birkenwald is recommended.
