From Rust to Mörbisch (barrier-free)
The approximately 8 km long path runs along the Burgenland bike route B10. Starting in Rust, the paved path runs along the belt of reeds to Mörbisch. Along the way, there are nice spots to discover - on foot, with a wheelchair, handbike, or bicycle.
Right at the beginning of the route, you pass the salt meadow where sheep graze and storks from the nearby stork station search for their food - depending on the season.
Those who can and want can climb the tower of the bird-watching station and look into the reeds from above.
The path continues along vineyards and olive trees to the snack station, which is accessible via a small side path. There you can also see some animals (sheep, goats, donkeys, chickens, ...).
Back on the path, continue past various rest stops towards Mörbisch. Upon reaching the town, proceed towards the harbor to the lake, the lake stage, the lakeside bath, and several catering establishments.

Roadbook
Starting point is the city harbor in Rust.
The path leads along "Am Seekanal" past the playground and the pump track to the lakefront. Follow the lakefront heading south, it becomes Greinergasse, leading out of the city. The stork station is located 500 m on the left side. Follow the path for about 1 km (bike route B10). Then it turns left (east) for another 260 m. (Here on the left, leaving the paved path, you can admire some animals (goats, sheep, donkeys, chickens, ...) - the snack station.
Coming from the original direction, ignoring the detour to the snack station, continue right (south direction), back onto the paved path of bike route B10. Follow this path for about 4 km until you reach Mörbisch on Seestraße. Now turn left, heading east, for another 1.7 km. Most of this section leads along the reeds; in the right season, you will be accompanied by geese. Arriving at the harbor area, you will be greeted at the roundabout by a duck-frog figure. Here you can visit the Mörbisch lakeside bath or the lake festival stage. Return the same way you came, or take the ferry back to the Rust city harbor (please check the ferry times in advance).
