The asphalt road begins to climb steadily through wide pastures dotted with dense fir groves, offering a superb view of the basin of the Seven Municipalities in which the Military Shrine of Asiago also stands out.
A couple of hairpin bends precede a short detour: turning left at the signpost, you reach Mount Rasta (1214 m), which is home to the remains of an artillery battery and from which the view opens up even further west, in the direction of Roana.
After admiring the view, you return by climbing again on asphalt, but shortly afterwards on the left there is a dirt track that initially climbs steeply and then curves and softens, crossing some trees and returning to the asphalt road upstream (if you have difficulty finding the road, stay on the asphalt path to reach the same point).
Finally, the asphalt gives way to a pleasant dirt track that continues gradually, in the shade of dense spruce woods, until it opens up again, this time near the Monte Interrotto (1386 m) dominated by the late nineteenth-century fortress that is very similar to a medieval castle. Although clearly a ruins, the name has nothing to do with a possible interruption of the works at the fortification, but derives instead from Hínter knotto, i.e. ‘fortress placed to the north’. It was built as a fortified surveillance barracks in the mid-nineteenth century, in a style that was already becoming obsolete but still used by the Austrians who occupied it in 1916. The fort is open and it is also possible to visit the interiors, a suggestive place which sometimes also hosts extemporaneous art displays. Just north of the structure there are some tables where you can sit and rest before returning along the same outward route.

Parking
Theoretically, it is possible to travel up by car but the road is quite narrow, rather bumpy and with reduced parking possibilities. It is much better to use the convenient car park in via XIX Maggio and then walk, enjoying the vast views.Coordinates
