The hike begins in the village of Föckelberg. Föckelberg is a small village with 382 inhabitants and is located near the Potzberg summit.
A visit to the "Potzbergtower" and the "Wildpark & raptor zoo" is definitely worthwhile.

- Respect nature, do not destroy plants and always stay on the paths.
- Think of a rubbish bag for the road and take waste back home with you.
- Please keep your dog on a leash at all times. Other visitors and animals will thank you.
- Observe all path closures for your own safety. Also on weekends.
- Park only in designated parking areas. Leave space for emergency routes and agricultural machinery.
- Please give priority to agricultural and forestry traffic.

General note:
Especially in autumn, note that fallen leaves on the ground can hide unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. After thunderstorms or rainstorms, trees may still fall or branches may drop afterwards. Particularly in adverse weather, natural paths can have muddy and slippery sections. Not all rocks or cliffs are secured with ropes or railings. Surefootedness is required in some places. You must expect such path impairments when hiking. If you believe parts of the path are impassable for you, you should avoid them.

We strive to announce all closures caused by forestry or hunting activities on this platform. Nevertheless, there are situations where trails are closed and we may not have been informed. If you unexpectedly encounter a path closure or detour, please pay attention to the notices for your own safety.

Marking "White disc with black dot" (Caution! - the marking might be slightly faded!)
Starting point "Hauptstraße" in Föckelberg - Hauptstraße (northward) to the intersection (K35 to Potzberg) - turn left onto a path, across the area "Horst" back to K35 (approx. 600 m) - turn right at K35 and after about 60 m turn left - approx. 450 m straight ahead to a crossroads - turn south and after about 50 m keep right and follow the path to the Stollenquelle (sign: Yellow Water), here we also join the "Remigius hiking trail".

We walk back about 100 m and follow the "Remigius hiking trail" uphill to the east along the switchback path - we follow the hiking trail to the "Triangular Stone" - turn left and come across a wide path over the Wellenj´kopf - turn right to the sign "Potzberg".
From here you have the opportunity to visit the "Potzbergtower" and the "Wildpark & raptor zoo" (with dining options). This detour - approx. 400 m there and back - is definitely worth it!
We continue to follow the "Remigius hiking trail" southwards and circle the Potzberg to the playground, then turn right and walk downhill to the main road in Föckelberg and meet again the marking "White disc with black dot".

We turn sharply left and walk up Hauptstraße in Föckelberg to the starting point of our hike.

- Even though the paths are consistently well marked, for safety reasons it is always recommended to carry a suitable
hiking map so that, for example, in case of a thunderstorm or emergency, you can quickly find a safe area.
