The Fjällräven Classic in Germany: From May 24 to 26, a route of the famous hiking event leads through the picturesque Allgäu. A highlight in the hiking calendar!
The first Fjällräven Classic in 2005 in Sweden was a complete success: year by year, more trekking fans gathered to discover nature together while hiking and meet like-minded people. Now the Fjällräven Classic is held worldwide – since 2022 also in Germany!
The stage was chosen to be the Allgäu in the Bavarian pre-Alps. The three daily stages with a total length of 57 km lead right through a fascinating cultural landscape: through dense coniferous forests, to sunny summits with sensational views, and over green meadows where cows graze.
On all three stages, steep ascents must be overcome, because it is almost nowhere flat and level in the Allgäu. Fortunately, there are many typical mountain huts – here called Alpen – with cozy sun terraces and excellent snack options. Overnight stays during the event are in designated camps, all participants bring their own tent and equipment.
Author’s recommendation
The route can of course also be hiked individually. Caution: Wild camping is prohibited in Germany! Please use accommodations in the valley outside the event.
