The DAV sections operate a total of seven huts in the Rur Eifel. This route connects the five huts located directly in the Rur valley: Kölner Eifel hut in Blens, Duisburger and Krefelder Eifel huts in Hausen, Düsseldorf and Mülheimer Eifel huts in Abenden.

Additionally, there is the Düren hut in Burg Nideggen and the Rheydt hut in Kleinhau.

    Roadbook

From the Kölner Eifel hut in Blens, the route goes directly to Hausen to the Duisburger Eifel hut and then on to the Krefelder Eifel hut at the forest edge. On the orographically right side of the Rur valley, it continues over the Rödelsberg, Forsthaus Baade, and the Ros valley down to Abenden to the Düsseldorf Eifel hut. From there, down "Auf dem Schildchen" to the Rur and in Abenden over the Rur bridge to the Mülheimer Eifel hut. The return goes on the left side of the Rur through the forest back to the starting point.

Unfortunately, the route runs over nearly 30% on paved roads, as it passes through and in towns a lot.
