Along the route, 14 information stations provide details about various aspects of the Federsee nature. Of natural interest are the extensive moor meadows, the Banngebiet Staudacher, and the breeding sites of the white stork in Oggelshausen, Tiefenbach, and Alleshausen.
There are numerous places to eat around the lake. The Federsee circular route is also very well explorable by bike.

Follow the signs: Route 8
Starting in Bad Buchau heading east, you reach in succession the villages of Oggelshausen, Tiefenbach, Seekirch, Alleshausen, Brackenhofen, and Moosburg on the Federsee Circular Route, all of which once lay directly on the lake. Ideal for resting is the barbecue area at the “Tiefenbacher Halde,” a wooded, high ridge between Oggelshausen and Tiefenbach. This marks the steep shore of the Federsee in prehistoric times. Past the barbecue area, you reach the village of Tiefenbach. From there, a narrow footpath leads to the Tiefenbacher Bay and a viewing tower on the lakeshore. From the tower, you have a magnificent view over the lake. Next, follow the circular route to Alleshausen and reach the moraine ridge north of the Federsee all the way to Moosburg. On the way back to Bad Buchau, you pass through the interesting moor primeval forest in the Banngebiet Staudacher.
