From the starting point, the Eppingen train station, you first head towards the Hotel-Restaurant Villa Waldeck. On the way there you can enjoy a great view of Eppingen. Once there, it is possible to have a snack or a refreshment. The path then leads you further to the Jägersee. It is a forest-surrounded lake at the foot of Ottilienberg. Here you will also find the forest sensory trail. This was created in 2007 on the occasion of the Baden-Württemberg Homeland Days. The boardwalk forms the end of the forest sensory trail. It allows walking over this swampy terrain. It is especially beautiful here in spring during the wild garlic bloom.
On the way to Mühlbach you also hike through a beautiful area. You pass the '7 Brothers'. This is a rare seven-stemmed maple tree. You can also enjoy a wonderful view of Mühlbach. Nearby winds the so-called snake path. This is an old path that leads up to the Mühlbach stone quarries. A little refreshment is possible at Mühlbach Lake. It is a family-friendly bathing lake with a playground and a staffed kiosk. If you get thirsty on the hike, the spring that appears on your way after Mühlbach Lake is just right. Here you can drink cool natural spring water.
On the way to and near the vineyards, wonderful views open up over the vineyard landscape towards Sulzfeld, and the Stromberg with Sternenfels. At the Efeldrich hut there is a nice barbecue area and seating. Another highlight of this hike is Ravensburg Castle. A nice path leads up to it. Passing by there, the path then leads in the direction of Sulzfeld train station. This is where the hike ends. By train, you can then return to Eppingen.
