Eisrunde Straubing

From our starting point at the entrance to the city park on Regensburger Str., proceed down Frauenbrünnlstr. to the pedestrian crossing. There, turn left and reach the ice pond which is even frozen today. We cross the small stone bridge over the ice pond and continue to the rose garden. Then we head out onto the street and follow the Danube Panorama Trail, which takes us to the Straubing dam. At the end of the dam, turn right and now follow the "Red 6" marker leading us to the Bschlacht. This separates the old and new Danube. There is usually something to discover here and today it's cool ice sculptures. Of course, there is also a beautiful view of the towers of Straubing :-). At the end of the Bschlacht, we reach the Wundermühle, from where you have the best view of the Straubing skyline. Here we keep right and walk up onto the Danube dam, where we leave the "Red 6" marker. Along the dam and later on a path along the Danube, we come to the bridge over the Danube. On the other side of the bridge, we go down the stairs to the Danube and turn left. Passing the Herzog castle, we continue straight ahead. After the next pedestrian crossing, we enter the park and follow the Moosgraben. At the end of the park, we reach the Straubing Tigers stadium and pass it on the left. Shortly after, we reach the ice pond again, where many people are skating today. On the familiar path, we return to the starting point.
