The Ederplan is the local mountain of Dölsach and an East Tyrolean-Carinthian border mountain with an incredible view. It is an easy and short hike.

The hike to the Ederplan starts above Dölsach at the Zwischenberger Sattel – a "parallel pass" to the less far east located Iselsberg, a frequently used crossing from East Tyrol to the Mölltal. The hike leads from the Zwischenberger Sattel mostly through the forest and shaded in the morning to the Anna-Schutzhaus (1,992 m) and then shortly after to the large summit cross (a Heimkehrerkreuz in honor of those fallen in the world wars and as thanks from the war returnees) at the Ederplan (2,062 m).
Author’s recommendation
If you have time, you should treat yourself to a sunset at the Anna-Schutzhaus. There is probably no other hut in East Tyrol whose location offers such impressive sunsets.
On the descent, as shown by the track, you can take the forest road and use shortcuts for a knee-friendly return route, making a circular hike.

Anna-SchutzhausRoadbook
From the parking lot (1,450 m) at or just before the Zwischenberger Sattel, a well-marked forest path leads to the Anna-Schutzhaus. The path is initially quite steep, eroded, and features rhythm-breaking steps. A first glimpse of the sensational view at the shelter or at the summit of the Ederplan is offered after 150 meters of elevation gain in the area of the open alpine meadow of the Ederalm. Here, the view opens across the Drautal toward the Lienzer Dolomites and the Lienz valley basin. Shortly after, the path runs north along a beautiful cross fence, offering views into the Mölltal and towards Heiligenblut and Sonnblick. Further up, on the ridge, open areas with some alpine huts are reached, where there is a clear view of the East Tyrolean "capital" Lienz. Shortly afterwards, you reach the Anna-Schutzhaus, which belongs to the ÖTK Dölsach. From the shelter there is an unmarked direct ascent in a straight line to the Ederplan, or more recommended and environmentally friendly is the marked hiking trail to the left of the hut, winding up to the nearby summit of the Ederplan, where the mighty Heimkehrerkreuz, over 10 meters high, stands.
