The Dreiherrensteinweg is ideal for relaxing, finding oneself, and enjoying nature, as it connects great views over the landscape with additional high points.
The Dreiherrenstein in the Petersberg area is the oldest still visible historical evidence of the village. Therefore, it is not surprising that this stone witness became the marker for the hiking trail.
The carved sandstone has a coat of arms on each side of the respective rule that met on the ridge near Petersberg.
For the Margraviate of Baden, the letters “MB” stand, the Hanau-Lichtenberg office is marked with the initials “HL”, and the Duchy of Palatinate-Zweibrücken with “PZ”. The stone column about 0.5 m high, shaped like a prism, was set in 1759 to settle border disputes.
Another highlight is the Mariengrotto, where in the 1950s several young women reportedly saw the Virgin Mary. Since then, the site has been maintained with great volunteer effort and provides detailed information about the individual apparitions.
UFFBASSE! - Campaign for considerate coexistence in nature
Fire & smoking - Building fires, smoking, and grilling are strictly forbidden and must be avoided in the forest! This is the only way to prevent fires and thus great damage to nature and wildlife.
Being considerate - Always behave thoughtfully, kindly, and considerately towards everyone you meet on the way.
Nature conservation - Stay on designated paths and avoid unnecessary noise when you are in nature. Leave the forest by dusk at the latest to avoid disturbing the rhythm of nocturnal animals.
Picnic & waste - Remember to carry a garbage bag for the way and take your waste home again. Use only the furnished rest areas for breaks and picnics.
Dogs on a leash - Please always keep your dog on a leash. Other visitors and animals will thank you.

Safety information
General information:
Especially in autumn, you should also be aware that fallen leaves on the ground can hide unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. After thunderstorms or heavy rain, trees can still fall or branches can drop afterward. Especially under adverse weather conditions, natural paths can have muddy and slippery sections. Not all rocks or cliffs are secured with ropes or railings. Surefootedness is sometimes required. You must expect such path impairments when hiking. If you feel certain sections are not passable for you, you should avoid them.
NOTE:
We strive to announce all closures due to forestry work or hunting clubs on this platform. Nevertheless, there are situations where hiking trails are closed, and we might not have been informed. If you unexpectedly encounter a path closure or detour, please observe the notices for your own safety.

Roadbook
The starting point of our circular hike is the fire station in Petersberg. After starting, we follow Steinbergstraße and reach the open fields, where the boundaries of Petersberg and Höhfröschen soon meet. Here, two historical boundary markers (1) from the years 1718 and 1722 can also be admired, standing to the left of the path on the height. We then continue to the Kreuztal ponds (2), past Biebermühle station (3), and then uphill through the dense forest to Petersberg. At the Teufelsklamm (4), the path leads us after a hairpin turn to the resting place at the water rock (5).
A few moments later, on our hike and after a steep climb to the Saufelsen (6), we also reach the Kuhfelsen (7) and the Mariengrotto Eulenkirche (8). On the further hiking trail, with a beautiful view around Staffelhof, our route passes by the Dreiherrenstein (9) back to Petersberg.
