From the Protestant Trinity Church dating from the 13th century, we walk through the market square, through the outer castle courtyard, and cross the Jagst. Behind the bridge, we turn left and follow hiking trail "No. 17". This leads us past the ice cellars, over the steps to Meßbach, where we reach the Catholic parish church "Of the Holy Trinity". It dates from the Rococo period (built in 1776) and is worth a visit because of its altars and frescoes.
Then we continue on the hiking trail "No. 16". We pass the natural monument "Linden tree" and walk over the "Old Post Steep" to the chapel "St. Wendel zum Stein". You can already tell from the outside why it is called that: The chapel, first mentioned in 1478, was built directly onto the 30 m high tuff rock, which thus forms the back wall of the building. The area has served as a Celtic cult site since the Late La Tène period (150/100 B.C. until around the birth of Christ).
Now we continue hiking through the chapel forest to Hohebach to the Jagst bridge and the Jewish cemetery. On the bike path that runs parallel to the B19, we pass the black rock and return to our starting point in Dörzbach.
