This scenic hike leads from the Rinderhütte mountain station through the idyllic Dalatal back to the village of Leukerbad. Passing Flüealp, the picturesque Flüekapelle, and the wild Clabinualp, the route goes through an impressive alpine cultural landscape with beautiful views over the Rhone Valley and the surrounding peaks.
The route starts at the Rinderhütte (2,311 m), the mountain station in the Torrent hiking area. From here, it initially climbs gently on wide paths to Flüealp – a scenic pasture with wide views over the Dalatal and to the Gemmi. Shortly after, you reach the Flüekapelle, which is picturesquely located on a small hill and invites you to pause.
From the chapel, the path leads to Clabinualp, a remote alpine area with alpine meadows and pastures. Here begins the most varied part of the hike: the path leads over a suspension bridge before descending the slope towards Melcherboden.
From Melcherboden, you follow a well-maintained mountain trail downhill through the forest. Shortly before Leukerbad, the Restaurant Buljes invites you for a last break with a lovely sun terrace and regional specialties. After that, it's only a few minutes' walk to the center of Leukerbad.
