Dächingen, through forest and fields
Selected alternatives for you
A short hike through forests and across meadows and fields in the mid-altitude region of the Swabian Alb. Surprisingly, in this area, despite the limestone subsoil, there are flowing waters and reed areas.

In the town center of Dächingen, the hike first goes through a settlement and past the cemetery out onto the fields. Shortly before the forest, the path turns west and then goes first through forest and then through open fields towards Altsteußlingen. Past a chapel and the Steinriegel, it leads to the federal road, briefly along a side path adjacent to it, and then back to the starting point.

From the town center (parking here)—if this is full, there are still parking spaces at the Raiffeisen bank—along the sidewalk through the town heading south towards the cemetery. On the right is an agricultural building. Before the forest, turn left and continue with a slight descent to a new development area. Now turn right into the forest and after about 50 m turn left again. Then through light beech forest to a signpost pointing left through the terrain to a path running along the forest edge. The original path makes a long right curve here, which we should not follow. At the forest edge, then down through fields with a slight descent. The path turns at a right angle to the left and leads up to the chapel Maria am Weg. From here, continue past the Steinriegel, herb bed, wild bee house, and the doline to the federal road 465 with the natural monument of an elm. Crossing the road to Dächingen via a side path and walking along B 465 (about 150 m) to a biotope. Now turn left and back to the town, which we reach from the west and continue right towards the town center. The church tower is our reference point for the destination.
