0.0 km Lochmühle
The "Krebsbachputzer" premium hiking trail opens up the wild and romantic Krebsbach valley between Reute and Lochmühle. To start the hike, you cross the Krebsbach on a covered bridge from the main portal at the Lochmühle parking lot and hike past a small field chapel into the Senge district. At the top at the edge of the forest, the comfortable forest sofa offers a surprisingly wide view of Lake Überlingen and the Hegau volcanoes. The Reschberg is now half circumnavigated towards the Käppeleweg before the path descends on a narrow mountain spur into the Krebsbachtal valley.
3.0 km Krebsbachtal / Kohltal
The Krebsbachputzer - the unconventional name is derived from the Eigeltinger fool's guild "Krebsbachputzer" - does not go all the way down to the stream, but turns left at an acute angle just above the valley floor and heads back in the opposite direction through the small Kohltal valley - if you wish, you can take a shortcut at this point via the Krebsbachtal bridge to the valley path and back to the Lochmühle. The path then gains a good bit of height, briefly touches the "Eckardsbrunner Steige" and immediately leads back to the forest. Now you walk along the western edge of the Krebsbach valley into the valley through Eichhölzle to the Schwedenkreuz. A plaque here commemorates the pastor from Honstetten who was murdered by Swedish horsemen in September 1633 with a "Swedish drink" made from liquid manure. A few steps downhill along the asphalt road you reach the entrance to the dilapidated former Tudoburg castle.
(1) 5.5 km Schwedenkreuz / Tudoburg castle ruins
The premium hiking trail now crosses the steep-sided Lermersloch, a deeply incised, rocky side valley of the Krebsbach stream with a small stream jumping merrily over rock steps. Scrambling back up to the top, you hike through meadows to the pretty Habsnest rest area with a snack island and forest sofa. Back in the forest, the route then continues along the edge of the valley to the "Dollenäcker" rest area just before Reute im Hegau.
8.0 km Reute im Hegau / Landgasthaus Schwanen path portal
From the alternative trail portal at Landgasthaus Schwanen in Reute, a branch trail leads to the actual premium hiking trail on the southern edge of the village. Now you enter the actual Krebsbachtal valley. The hiking trail now follows the lively babbling Krebsbach stream, sometimes to the left, sometimes to the right of the stream through the wild and romantic gorge landscape. Small bridges and footbridges help you to change sides of the valley; the path can sometimes be muddy here.
(2) 9.6 km Krebsbach valley
The hiking trail now reaches the easy forest path and soon afterwards the Krebsbachtalhütte (barbecue area with picnic area and "forest sofas"). After a rest, the trail continues downhill through the valley, which now opens up more and more, back to the starting point at the Lochmühle.
(3) 13.0 km Lochmühle
If you are still not tired when you get back to the Lochmühle restaurant and excursion pub, you can perhaps treat yourself to a little more adventure on the rope bridge in the quarry or take a ride on the tractor.

Inconvenient. The easiest way is to take the Seehäsle Radolfzell - Stockach to the Nenzingen stop. From there, take the SBG RegioBus to Eigeltingen. You can also get there by bus from Singen-Bahnhof.Directions
Eigeltingen is easily accessible from the direction of Engen/from the A 81 Stuttgart-Singen highway via Aach. Coming from Constance, take the B 31 and exit at Steißlingen. From there, drive via Steißlingen to Eigeltingen. The Lochmühle parking lot is well signposted in the village.Parking
