On 20 February 2019, the new Municipality of Colceresa, born from the merger of the Municipalities of Molvena and Mason Vicentino, was established. The morphology of the Municipal territory is characterized by the slopes of the Pedemontana Vicentina, the valley of the Laverda stream and other minor valleys in which streams generated by the numerous springs flow.

The subsoil of much of the hilly territory is of volcanic origin that makes the soil fertile and promotes the cultivation of vineyards and fruits of all kinds; the typical dark stone of the place is recognizable in the floors of the ancient paths, in the dry walls and in the masonry of some buildings. There are various elements of historical and monumental interest, the main ones are the mills and the Angarana ditch, the votive capitals, the parish churches and the historic buildings: Villa Mastai Ferretti, Villa Angaran delle Stelle, the Monastery of San Biagio, Hermitage of San Pietro.

The development of urban centres (Mason, Molvena, Villa, Mure, Villaraspa) and communication routes has taken place respecting the ancient paths and mule tracks that now make up an articulated network of trails and allow to appreciate the beauty of the landscape. There are various farmhouses and farms, the most common crops are cherry (production area of the Marostica Cherry PGI), olive and vine. The territory lends itself to excursions in any season of the year, but actually you can most appreciate these places in the spring and on the clear winter days when the sun warms the slopes. Cherries, vineyards, streams, meadows, robin and chestnut woods accompany hikers along the four ring routes that make up the local tourism proposal.

The itineraries were given the names of some of the animals present in the woods of Pedemontana Vicentina: Hedgehog, Squirrel, Hare and Roe. The tracks have respectively extensions of 3, 5, 12 and 18 km, with increasing difficulties also in terms of altitude difference (between 150 and 800 m), they are provided with newly built signage and will accompany you in the discovery of the territory of the Municipality of Colceresa.

At the highest point of the path, about 380 m above sea level, if the day is clear, the Venice lagoon is visible with the naked eye.

    Roadbook

The recommended departure is from Piazza Alpini to Molvena.  The path begins with a descent on the Strada dei Sassi (cobblestone), to the bottom of the Rio Valley. After a short stretch on Via G. Carli, take Via G.B. Sasso and then the Tisa Trail (pebbled). Take Via Soprachiesa on the right and then Via Michelina again on the right, after the cemetery, continue on the Sentiero delle Piccole, then on the left on Via Michelina and reach Via Tibalda. A short stretch of asphalted road, to be followed towards the valley, leads to the entrance of the Mascarellotti trail, which descends along the slope to the district bearing the same name. Once you reach Piana dei Micheletti, just before the uphill stretch of Via Mascarellotti that leads to Via Collesello, the path turns right on the trail Piana dei Micheletti, which leads to the ridge of Via Costavernese. The itinerary continues on Via Costavernese going towards the valley and then, always keeping to the right, you completely cross the Laverda valley up to the ridge on the right bank. Continuing in this direction, cross the intersection and, in short, you will reach Via Ferretti (turn left) and the Palazzotto trail. The path leads over the ridge for the first time, climbing the Palazzotto Trail and then turning right onto Via Franchi, Via Costa trail, Via Costa downhill to Via Monte Ortigara. Continuing westward on the bike path, after a few hundred metres take Via Riale, which should be followed keeping to the right at the junction and then turning left on a steep ramp towards a vineyard. The climb that leads over the ridge for a second time begins: the Riale trail leads to Via Costa d'Olio where you have to turn right until you reach Via Franchi. Following Via Franchi and then Via Belmonte uphill, you will find the Colceresa trail on the right, which must be followed up to the rest area; from here going up the valley, you will return near Via Belmonte, at the beginning of the Sonco Gobbi trail, which must be followed downhill to Via Barco.  Once on Via Barco, turn right and follow a few hundred metres of road without a sidewalk up to the bridge of Via Laverda, near the mill. At this point the Mariane trail begins, which must be followed uphill keeping the left at the junction to reach Via Costavernese, where you have to turn left, climbing the ridge, until you reach the Strada Romana trail, which leads back to the bottom of the Laverda valley with a steep path. The path continues on a dirt road that runs along the stream to Via Rosi (the only stretch outside the municipality of Colceresa, to be followed with particular attention as it has no sidewalk) and then further on road to the Covolo mill where there is an old sawmill, still functioning, powered by water (Angarana ditch). Shortly after the bridge, on the Laverda stream, there is a steep and barren trail to climb Via A. Caneva, where you have to turn right for a few metres before taking a steep asphalted road on the left and then, continuing on the trail up to a stretch on the coast on a road that leads to the town of Soldamare. The hillside road leads to Via Parisoni, on which you have to turn left uphill until you reach the highest point of the path at about 380 m above sea level. Shortly before reaching the town of Guizze, on the right, the descent on the Campo Urbano trail starts as far as reaching Via Costabernardo (turn right) downhill, then left on the Loara trail which, in short, leads back to the Church of Molvena.
