Crossing of district roads necessary in three placesRoadbook
From there, continue on a gravel forest path steadily descending slightly. We stay on the main path, passing several logging trails along the way. Eventually, we reach the forest edge and see on the right side the Binsdorf-Erlaheim sewage treatment plant as well as district road K7121. At the next intersection, we turn right toward the district road, which we cross further on and follow it a very short distance northeast to Keinbach Mill, where we turn right. We pass through the outlying farmyard and then follow a gravel forest path. Along the forest path, it goes steadily slightly uphill through beautiful old trees in a northeast direction. On the left side of the path runs the Laugrabenbach stream intermittently. We always follow the main path here as well. Upon reaching a clearing, we turn left at an intersection; the path continues slightly uphill again. We continue on the main path. After a right bend in the path, we reach a crossroads. Here, the path continues straight east. At the next intersection, we keep right in the direction of the natural monument “Erlaheimer Oak.” At the next crossing, the site of the natural monument, the path continues straight on a paved way toward Erlaheim. The path leads on to a shelter with a playground, inviting a rest. Descending into a valley hollow, the path continues toward Erlaheim. At the following crossroads with a wayside cross, our path continues straight uphill toward the Eichberg nature reserve. A paved path passes the parking lot of the Erlaheim sports grounds. A hiking information board provides more details. The hiking path continues straight, and at the next opportunity, we turn right onto a forest path up into the Eichberg nature reserve. The nature reserve includes orchard meadows and is home to, among others, the “Geislingen nature trails.” Arriving at the top of the Eichberg, we are greeted by a magnificent panoramic view. On the right lies Erlaheim, picturesque in the valley. We follow the grass path further toward the Josef chapel, where a so-called “sensory bench” invites to linger. Following the path, we reach the Josef chapel on the Eichberg. Near the chapel stands a war memorial; the path continues past Stations of the Cross under the oaks that give the Eichberg its name. We leave the grass path and take a paved path past a water reservoir heading south. At the next intersection, we turn right heading west toward district road K7121, which we cross straight ahead continuing west. A paved country road continues straight toward the monument “The Three Crosses,” located under chestnut trees at district road K7122. After the “Three Crosses,” we continue crossing the district road further southwest on a paved country road. At the next crossroads with a wayside cross, we turn right toward the Geislingen district of Binsdorf. At the next intersection, we continue straight along Müllergasse until we reach the thoroughfare. Here we turn left onto Turmstraße toward the town center. We pass the Markus fountain and continue straight to reach the striking Binsdorf town hall, which houses a small museum with a room dedicated to local history. Our path continues in the same direction until, arriving at Löwengasse, we turn right. We follow it to the end and meet Loretostraße, where we turn left. On the right, while following Loretostraße straight ahead, we have an unobstructed view of the beautiful panorama of the Swabian Alb. A footpath continues straight uphill until reaching Chestnut Avenue at Friedhofstraße. Arriving there, we turn right toward the cemetery chapel. A paved path leads to the cemetery chapel and then downhill, still offering a great view of the beautiful landscape around Binsdorf. At the next crossroads with two small monuments, our path continues half-left back to our starting point, the Loreto car park.
