Castle route

 The Geopark entrance portal on the Neckar is the starting point of the tour. The narrow Schiedweg leads us into the town area. From here you can already see the first, still inhabited "Vorderburg", built in the early 13th century. Immediately next to it is the somewhat younger "Mittelburg". The Schlosssteige leads into the hiking trail, the Burgensteig, which leads directly to the "Hinterburg ruins". The Hinterburg was built around 1100 and is freely accessible to visitors. A side path leads to the youngest of the four castles, the "Burgruine Schadeck", called Schwalbennest due to its location. Back at the Hinterburg, follow the path downwards, cross the B 37 at the traffic light and take the hiking trail directly back to the starting point.
