Hike through the Bizeljsko hills to Bizeljsko Castle and the surrounding area.
As the name suggests, the circular path leads past Bizeljsko Castle, which lies in the northern part of the Bizeljsko hills. The Klakočar family lives there and is involved in viticulture, and in addition to the castle tour, they also prepare wine tastings in the castle cellar. The Bizeljsko-Sremiška wine road is characterized by wines such as blue frankish, sparkling wines, and the indigenous yellow plavec. The starting point of the route is at the Šekoranja inn, where in front of the church of St. Lawrence, we turn left uphill, where the path begins among the vineyards. Between 1825 and 1827, Anton Martin Slomšek worked here, to whom a room is dedicated in the parish house, and next to it is a permanent exhibition of the heritage of Bizeljsko. The path also leads past the Babič majolica collection, where around 1500 diverse and interesting majolica pieces testify to their popularity among various peoples, as they have arrived in this collection from almost all over the world. The path is distinctly panoramic. In Orešje, the path leads past the church of St. Magdalene, past the wine cellars and then past the castle. From the castle, a castle avenue leads, at the end of which is one of the largest lime trees in Slovenia, over 300 years old. After a small ascent, the path takes us to the hunting lodge and Lusthaus, a building among vineyards where castle stewards once observed work in the vineyards.

Roadbook
As the name suggests, the path takes us to Bizeljsko Castle. The starting point is on Kumrovska street in the center of Bizeljsko, where there is an information board. In front of us on the hill, we see the parish church of St. Lawrence. We turn left, past the primary school and proceed up the asphalt path. We walk among vineyards and soon see Obsotelje with Medvednica in Croatia (the highest peak Sljeme) in the background on the right. The "Lusthaus" (a beautiful viewpoint) is also visible. We would go there if at the chapel at the crossroads we took the left macadam path, but we continue straight on the asphalt path, which leads us to a new crossroads Drenovec - Bukovje. We continue straight and arrive at the Babič majolica collection. The path climbs; we go through a small forest and arrive at a crossroads where going straight would also lead to Bizeljsko Castle, but we turn right, passing the Malus wine tavern, and in the distance first see Bizeljsko Castle. From here, our path steeply descends through the forest past a shrine, then we soon see Obsotelje with the town of Klanjec in Croatia. The path again leads us to a crossroad; we keep right, walk on the asphalt path, and at the next crossroads again follow the asphalt and turn left. At the signpost, we then turn sharply right onto a macadam farm road that meanders over a creek, through fields, meadows, and vineyards with a constant view of Bizeljsko Castle, and leads us to the Bizeljsko - Orešje road. We turn left, walk along the asphalt road past the church of St. Magdalene. After a slight ascent, we arrive at the Malus vineyard homestead; on the right is the old Orešje school named after A.M. Slomšek. On the way, the view of Bizeljsko Castle constantly accompanies us on the left, and so we slowly reach the castle cellars and granary, that is, below Bizeljsko Castle. We continue the castle path along the castle avenue, which leads us to Bizeljsko village to the Rožman homestead, where one of the oldest lime trees in Slovenia grows, over 300 years old, and on to the crossroads. We go straight, ascend slightly, and along the old castle forest path to the hunting lodge and "Lusthaus." Here you get a wonderful view of Bizeljsko and the surroundings. We descend along the farm road between the vineyards and reach the Slavik chapel, where along the Castle path we continue to the starting point, that is, the center of Bizeljsko.
