The scenic hike leads to the highest point of the Bodanrück between Lake Überlingen and the Lower Lake of Lake Constance
In the northeast of the Radolfzell district Liggeringen lies a south-facing molasse slope with ecologically valuable semi-dry grasslands. The hiking trail crosses the sunny Ober Öschle nature reserve, where numerous species of orchids and gentians can be found. These can be observed from the path. At the highest point of the Bodanrück, bisons graze in a large open enclosure in Bodenwald. The nearby Bodenwald inn is a popular excursion destination. Close by are the Alt-Bodman ruin and Frauenberg monastery. Both are historically closely connected with the counts of Bodman, the namesakes of Lake Constance. Directly on the route lie magnificent viewpoints to Lake Überlingen and to the Lower Lake with Zeller See and Gnadensee, in the middle is Reichenau Island. In föhn weather conditions, the Swiss and Austrian Alps are within reach.

Roadbook
From the bus stop Liggeringen Dorfmitte, the path "Am Gässelbach" leads up to the inn "zum Kranz", before which you turn right through Bergstraße out of the village and through the Ober Öschle nature reserve. At the following forks, continue straight until a sign points up to Bodenwald. Via Schlauchenweg, you reach the scenic upland with a beautiful view back to Radolfzell Minster. Straight ahead is the bison enclosure, where up to 20 bisons can be observed up close. The only place to eat on the circular route is the Bodenwald inn. From the "bison enclosure" fork, detours to the Alt-Bodman ruin or the Frauenberg monastery are worthwhile (each about 15 minutes one way). Both offer a magnificent panoramic view of Lake Überlingen as well as the Hegau and Linzgau regions. The round continues on the premium path SeeGang to the "Lake Constance view" at the cliff edge overlooking Lake Überlingen. The path beside the gravel road provides repeated lovely views of Ludwigshafen, the Alt-Bodman ruin, and the Frauenberg monastery. A meadow path leads back to the "Vogelherd" fork, where the SeeGang follows the steep slope to the viewpoint „Lusthäusle“. This idyllic place once brought the lovers of Liggeringen and Bodman together. The breathtaking panoramic view over the Lower Lake from Reichenau Island across the Mettnau Peninsula to the town of Radolfzell is also impressive. Beyond lies the Höri with Schienerberg. Across the Neuwiesen and Lerchenacker, the SeeGang reaches the "Mittlere Wiese", a large rest and barbecue area (Stöckenloch). After Pfrundacker, at the "Hölzle" fork, look left towards the widely visible Schneckenberg. This drumlin is a relic of the last Ice Age. If the weather is clear, a detour to the summit is recommended. It offers a final magnificent panoramic view over the Lower Lake, with a bit of luck as far as the Alps. Finally, follow the yellow diamond trail marker through the „Finsterloch“ back to Liggeringen.
