After the first meters on a rocky forest road, you immediately reach a cozy forest path past the adventure playground. From the start, several rest areas invite you to linger; those interested can learn about flora and fauna at the crossing forest educational trail, a rustic rock chapel offers an opportunity for pause and reflection. As an alternative to the described continuation on the yellow-marked forest road, you can follow a parallel unmarked path through light pine forest, past a pretty stone wall to the junction with the red-marked asphalt road. The spot in front of the Eisenstein Cave with the Alpine Club shelter offers beautiful views of quaint, moss-covered rock walls.
Author’s recommendation
It is advisable to plan an extra half hour for walking the forest and bird educational trail, which reconnects with the described route again near the rest area with the wooden shelter

We start at the parking lot at the Bad Fischau nature park and follow the forest road uphill past a playground (on the left). The forest educational trail crosses here; always following the red marking, you come past the "Kaisereiche" rest area and then a rest area with a wooden shelter, then finally turn left at a rock chapel and reach a T-shaped junction. Turn left there and follow the yellow-marked forest road, soon along a fenced shooting range (signs "Danger to life!"), until it merges into the red-marked asphalt road to the Eisenstein Cave. Follow the signs to the right to the cave with the Alpine Club shelter. Initially return the same way until the asphalt road sharply turns right downhill towards Brunn, there continue straight on the red-marked forest path to the first houses. Turn left at the small transformer station, continue on the dam of the 1st Vienna high spring pipeline passing a group of stones with descriptions to the playground; descend to the right to the parking lot.
