The Clogmaker Museum is closed in winter, from All Saints' Day to Easter except for groups.Roadbook
This route is a loop, marked "green ring" by the Club Vosgien of Soucht. Description is clockwise.
From Place de la République, you go straight up the pedestrian street des Ecoliers, then by a path you pass alongside the Jardin du Curé which can be visited on the way back. Upon reaching the cemetery, turn left still following the green ring marking until a directional sign that opens the loop: turn right to reach a new landing (viewpoint over the village). The route takes you past a calvary, then to a rock called Schuhfelsen, and further on, a little off the path, the best viewpoint over the village (bench to enjoy the view).
After crossing the housing estate, pass the Heidenfelsen rock, the Moulin de Soucht, then behind the stadium. A picnic area set up by the Club Vosgien is near the football club locker rooms. From there, you climb to the other side with multiple viewpoints. On the opposite slope, the old cultivated terraces are clearly visible. After the Grotto of Lourdes, a somewhat steep climb through a hollow path leads to a water basin and several antennas. After one last climb, you reach the forest again and further on another water basin. From there, you descend to the Weissekreiz pass to climb again and reach the old railway line with an option to visit the Clogmaker Museum located below.
You pass under the old railway line through a tunnel, then cross a calvary (Karl's Kreiz) before climbing up the southern slope. Leaving the forest, one last viewpoint over Soucht, before descending to Place de la République retracing the outward path.
