On the way to the summit house we pass various alpine huts like the Kreinbauernalm, the Kotalm and the Brauneck-Alm and initially walk on forest roads and occasionally over a narrow beautiful meadow path to the Brauneck summit house.

At the parking lot we keep left and walk on the left side of the Draxlhanglift on the path towards "Brauneck over Kotalm". The road leads us past the Milchhäusllift and over the Milchhäusl to the Kotalm. After the Kotalm we turn right and walk up over a meadow until we meet the forest road again. Alternatively, we can also leave the Kotalm behind on the left earlier and continue on the forest road. At about 1270 m the previously wide path becomes narrower and ends in a meadow path that leads us up to the Brauneck-Alm. We pass this and turn right again towards the mountain station of the Brauneck gondola lift. We have to walk through this and then reach the Brauneck summit house after a few more minutes on the summit path.
