Ajdna is a summit with a beautiful view of Stol, Jelovica, Pokljuka, and the Julian Alps. You can also see part of the Upper Sava Valley between Žirovnica and Jesenice. Ajdna is known for its archaeological site. There was a mountain settlement here already in the fifth to sixth century. The first Christian church in Slovenia was built on Ajdna. The patron saint of the church is unknown, but mass is held every last Saturday in June at the site where the church once stood. In addition to the church, other findings have been restored and protected with a roof that prevents the destruction of the restoration. There is a guestbook at the summit.

Directions
From the Ljubljana - Jesenice highway, take the Lesce exit and continue on the road towards Žirovnica and Jesenice. After a few kilometers, you will reach an intersection where the road branches right towards Žirovnica and Moste (from the Jesenice direction, turn left). A few meters ahead, at the next intersection, turn left towards Moste (right is Žirovnica). Continue past the monument to the fallen fighters, where the road starts to ascend uphill under the railway. At the top of the hill, turn right (at the 'Vila Karin' sign), and continue towards Završnica Lake and the Valvasor Lodge. The road then levels off and leads to an intersection where the road branches left towards the Valvasor Lodge. Take that road (straight ahead is the cabin near the Završnica spring), which starts gently but then climbs increasingly steeply on an occasionally quite damaged road (the steepest sections are paved). Higher up, the road leads to a slightly larger intersection where we continue left towards Potoška planina (right is Doslovška planina). The road levels off again and after a short distance brings us to the next intersection. This time, continue slightly right towards the Valvasor Lodge (slightly left to Ajdna and Potoška planina) and drive up the again steeper road all the way to the mentioned lodge.Parking
Park at one of the parking areas along the road near the mountain lodge; parking directly in front of the lodge is only permitted for guests. From Poljana (intersection before Završnica Lake) to the Valvasor Lodge is 5 km. However, we recommend parking in the lot near the lake in the Završnica valley. This does add an hour of walking one way but is worth it due to the beautiful path.Coordinates
