As part of the preparations for the 875 Years Schwarzenberg Anniversary in 2025, working groups of various actors and committed citizens of Schwarzenberg were formed. From the working group “Reviving and Networking” came the idea to develop a walking route that highlights the special features of the town of Schwarzenberg with various stations. This developed – referencing the 875 Years Schwarzenberg anniversary – into the 8.75er walking route.

What’s behind it? Quite easy: fun and action!

“We personally tested the route. What a trip – funny, beautiful, and with completely new perspectives on our town. So let’s go – 8.75 kilometers through the pearl of the Ore Mountains!”

Along 8.75 km, a total of 11 stations await nature lovers and families to be discovered. But the route doesn’t have to be walked alone – the sheep Gerd and Gerda accompany the route and are searching for the legendary Edelweiß of immortality. At the stations, you will find QR codes that always lead to the corresponding story section and a question, also voiced.

Those who accompany Gerd and Gerda on their search to the end and answer the questions correctly receive a solution word. With this, a small prize can be collected at the Schwarzenberg information center or the Museum PERLA CASTRUM – a castle full of history.
