Recommended trail all year round if weather is favorable. In summer, due to low vegetation and lack of trees (and therefore shade), it is preferable to do it early in the morning or when the heat begins to dissipate. It is a route that combines a natural area with an urban zone, as well as a mountainous and coastal area. It is therefore advisable to wear good shoes and bring water to stay hydrated
Roadbook
- From the Cadaqués tourist office, follow the promenade to the right up to the entrance of the old Rocamar hotel, to the right of which there is an unpaved track marking the start of the GR-92 towards Roses.
- Climb while turning to admire the view over the bay of Cadaqués and Cap de Creus.
- Cross Mas d'en Baltre (more restored with some dry stone buildings) by following the track.
- As you progress, you will see the Mas de Sa Sala (one of the oldest heritages of Cadaqués) and the cliffs of Punta Prima on the left.
- At some point, you will find a barrier preventing passage for vehicles. The GR-92 continues to your left and goes down to Cala Joncos (as locals of Cadaqués call it) or Jòncols (as it is commonly named), a municipality of Cadaqués.
- From the cove, join the road and follow the detour towards Cap Norfeu.
- Continue the section in its most coastal and least urban part passing by Cala Pelosa, Cala Calitjàs, leaving aside Punta de la Ferrera and finishing at Cala Montjoi (where there is a holiday village and the restaurant that was a world reference in gastronomy: El Bulli)
- The rest of the route follows a path along the coast between Cala Montjoi and Almadrava. There are cliffs, steep rocks, isolated coves, pine vegetation, and Mediterranean scrublands.
- From Almadrava, follow the coast as urban as possible passing through Canyelles Petites, the Roses lighthouse, and finally the harbor which will be left on your left. From the Puerto area, follow the Roses promenade until its tourist office, the final point of the section very close to Ciudadela (an important archaeological site declared a historical-artistic site).
